Cutting-edge cashless gaming solutions to be showcased at EAG International Expo 2020

Bacta and Polar Moment joint venture driven by changing customer payment behaviour
Among all of the new technologies on show at EAG International Expo (14-16 January, ExCeL London) will be several cashless gaming solutions whose development has been driven by significant and ongoing changes in the way consumers like to pay.
Responding to this pattern, Game Payment Technology (GPT), in a joint venture between bacta and payment industry specialists Polar Moment, has developed a secure cashless gaming technology in the form of a user-friendly smartphone app.
Rather than being a replacement for cash, this solution has been designed to make things easy for consumers who would rather play by means other than cash. Explaining how the JV came about, Polar Moment Director John Rozek said:
This solution was developed in response to an actual demand. When bacta members perceived a continuous and ongoing decline in the use of cash, they saw a need for a socially responsible solution to meet the complex requirements associated with non-cash payments.
Chief among the many challenges involved in developing the new app was the need for the app to be able to work on digital and analogue systems, with retrofitting being simple and cost-effective for all machines in the field.
For Greg Wood, Vice President of bacta, social responsibility has been a key area to address:
As you can imagine, banking and compliance is such a big area. Not only have we taken into account the social responsibility requirements of the Gambling Commission, but also the compliance requirements of the Financial Conduct Authority, payment processors and the banks – all of whom require us to pass compliance testing to ensure we have the correct processes in place.
With the back end now fully developed to production level, GPT is expecting to have completed finishing touches on the app’s user interface by the end of October, with a shake down test in live environments by early November.
There are still stands available at the newly expanded show and potential exhibitors can book their space here.
