How important are cashless technologies as a gateway to improved social responsibility?

There are now many cashless payment solutions available to the amusements and gaming operator. Some have ported from other markets such as vending, whilst others have been developed from within the industry. John Rozek (Director, Polar Moment Ltd)

John Rozek is a director of Game Payment Technology focussed on the business aspects of its payment processing, managing its acquirer relationships, and overseeing compliance.

John is new to the amusement sector, but, brings 23 years of experience in the payments industry, working at senior levels in card acquiring, payment processing, and payments consultancy.   At Worldpay he was senior programme manager for its international merchant services function, which at that time was providing ground-breaking multi-currency services.  John and his team were responsible for implementing cross-border solutions for major international brands.  At The Logic Group he was head of product management and director of business futures.   He successfully led the project that implemented the world’s first integrated chip and PIN solution, which was rolled out to most UK tier 1 retailers, implemented the company’s first managed service, and delivered the product set to respond to the growth of ecommerce.

In 2006, John was a founding director of Polar Moment, an organisation that has grown into a highly respected payments consultancy with an enviable customer list including Barclaycard, Worldpay, Global Payments, Apple, PayPal and Aldi.  He has supported key mergers and acquisitions for Bain Capital, Advent International and Worldpay. He created and has delivered the payment industry specific content for Worldpay’s masters’ degree in payment services.  John wrote Shell’s EMV strategy, specified Whitbread’s payment strategy, supported PayPal in the implementation of PayPal Here, and worked with TNS’s executive team to reshape the business after the sale of TNSPay to Mastercard. He is Aldi’s external payment systems consultant, helping to deliver its new store platform in 2019.   John is GoodBox’s payment expert, helping them grow into the UK’s leading contactless donations payments facilitator, and is actively involved with the FCA, UK Payments, and Visa to agree how strong customer authentication will be implemented for charity donations.
